If my paycheck would allow it, I would live in Kate Spade and J. Crew. Unfortunately, the life of a college student is not one that generally allows for the spending of excessive amounts of money on items that aren’t essential to survival. That doesn’t mean I can’t window shop, though, and Kate Spade is one of my absolute favorite places to do so.
Kate Spade launched her brand, solely handbags, in 1993. The brand quickly expanded and was bought by Neiman Marcus Group in 1999, with Kate remaining very active within the brand. Her husband has been her partner throughout her business endeavors.
What I love most about Kate Spade, besides the beautifully bright colors used in all her items, is her use of classic cuts and designs to create a feminine, playful, and modern style. Her summer collection is especially wonderful; featuring fun, summery sayings and quotes from Dorothy Parker, a noted poet.
Kate Spade also has plenty of chic, affordable gift ideas. Her blog (which can be found at her website: katespade.com) and Instagram highlight how fun a company it must be to work for, from glimpses in their office to behind-the-scenes at photo shoots.
If you’re looking for something beautiful, class, and bright, I would go to Kate Spade before anywhere else. From the office to a party, her fun looks are classic as well as versatile, and can be styled in a multitude of ways. A worthwhile investment, through and through.
